St. Paul's Welcomes
Our Incoming Pastor,
Jacob Stefanec

We are filled with joy to share that St. Paul's Lutheran Church has called our next pastor. Pastor-elect Jacob Stefanec will be joining our congregation this summer, and his ordination and installation will take place on August 1, 2026.

Jacob recently completed his studies at Concordia Theological Seminary, where he received a thorough theological education in preparation for pastoral ministry. He and his wife, Abby, are both originally from the East Coast. Jacob grew up in New York, and Abby is from northern Maine, so the move to Maryland is a welcome return to the eastern seaboard for their family. They have two children: their son Oliver, who turns four in July, and their daughter Eden, who is nearly a year and a half old. As a family, they love hiking, visiting parks and playgrounds, reading books together, and trips to the zoo.

A word from our incoming pastor, Jacob

In his own words to our congregation:

"It is with great joy that I write to you all. My family and I are pleased to move to Maryland during the summer, and I am excited to soon begin serving you as your pastor. The next couple of months will undoubtedly be busy as we prepare to move. Please keep us in your prayers during this time, as you are also in mine.

For now, I leave you, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the words of Saint Paul himself: 'Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain' (1 Corinthians 15:55-58).

Christ is risen!"
